As a woman it is not often that we get to treat ourselves, particularly given the current financial situation throughout the world. For a lot of women, the trips to the shops often involve buying food and shopping, which is hardly inspirational stuff. Of course there are lots of women out there who are enjoying successful careers and good luck to them, but for every woman carving a niche for herself in business, there is another woman stuck at home, looking after the kids whilst the husband goes out to earn the money. Of course, there are some wonderful aspects to this situation, and many women enjoy their lives with the kids. The only problem is that it can be difficult for the women to control the purse strings, and buying things for themselves can become difficult.

There are things out there though that don’t break the bank, and if you shop around you might just find that it doesn’t cost the earth to find something to brighten your mood a little. You will see that the prices are far lower than you would expect on the high street, and this means that buying yourself the odd treat will barely dent the usual out goings. Last month it was my girlfriends’ birthday. We had been together for about five years and I was struggling to think what I could possibly get her! I don’t know why it seemed so difficult, I had never had any problems choosing something for her before, but I guess that by this stage in our relationship I had already bought her lots of things, which meant that I didn’t have that many ideas left!

I decided to look online for some inspiration, and I started off by searching for girt ideas for women. I was a bit disappointed to see balloon rides, weekends away at health spas, all these things were way beyond budget for me! We had a simple life and we bought simple gifts for each other! Eventually I stumbled across a site that could finally do me some good! I had found a womens perfume store online which seemed to have some really great deals. Luckily my girlfriend had a few bottles which were getting close to being empty, but they gave me a great clue about which perfume to buy for her. I sneaked a peek at her favourites, and made a mental note of the names of the perfumes. I decided to get her something new, but by a company that she had bought two perfumes from already. This way, she would almost certainly like it. Luckily the company also offered a returns policy, so I knew that if the worst came to the worst, she would be able to change it for something she liked.

Luckily on the day she loved my choice, and I’ll remember the perfume store for next year!
